Hey Brandy, Why are your prongs so long?

Hey Brandy, Why are your prongs so long?

As you may or may not notice While shopping at my store, My prongs are longer than some of the other guys in cad world, and there is a very good reason behind it.

The longer the prong, the easier it is to bend.  The shorter it is, the harder to bend.  Simple as that.

Long prongs mean the setter needs to put less pressure on the prongs to push them over the stone.  This means they are putting less pressure on the stone and are less likely to damage or break the stone in setting.

Yes, you will spend a little bit more in gold, but in the end that little extra is recyclable as are all the metals we use - and if it means you have less breakage overall I think each extra mm of prong I give is worth its weight in gold.
